Mini tapioca drinks are a nice change from boba milk tea. They also have a lot of fruit drinks. :)

Your employees are disrespectful, no service at all in this Branch at 712 W Las Tunas Dr, San Gabriel, CA 91778 1. When I walk in like customers, if u don't say hi, which is Okie with me! But at least take your customer to be seated even tho your employees saw us here and waiting for them! 2. We had raise my hand for order food , they saw us but don't even want to come and take order! And I count that take 2 min for them to come over!? That's really great service for your employees with attitude! 3. Your employees need to pay more attention for their own attitude!

I've never been to this Phoenix location before - it's smaller and not as nice as the one on Atlantic. They still have the same menu but they were out of egg tarts! Boo! My friend and I got the mixed fruit shaved ice - all that condensed milk and fresh fruit really hit the spot! And the lemon almond cookies - which were a bit on the dry side and more lemony than almondy (which I liked) Service is standard, bathroom is relatively clean. Parking is aplenty since it's in a plaza.

I'm a fan of the fabulous and fast desserts at the Phoenix chain of Food Boutiques, Dessert Shops, and Full Chinese Restaurants; however, this is my least favorite location. Don't get me wrong, this small spot on Las Tunas is still a-ok, but just not as fast or fabulous as the other spots. Phoenix Food Boutique offers fast Chinese Fusion food and an array of desserts, teas, and snacks. It seems stuck between being a full tea shop or a "to go" spot. Parking is free in the shared lot for the shopping center. Olivia Z. and me popped in for some dessert and tea. The drinks were tame while a Mixed Mochi Pack: Red Bean, Green Tea, Black Sesame/Taro, and Mango was quick. It might of been an older package of mochi because we've had better at other Phoenix stores. Finally a pre-made Mango Pudding with Condensed Milk brought us some Mango-ness. Not all Phoenix locations are the same. This Phoenix Food Boutique may not rise to triumph like others, but it also won't flame out anytime soon. It's a-ok.

Service is lackluster, portions are a rip off considering the same prices for actual entrees at amazing places just down the street. The only reason this place and franchise even deserves any stars is cause people need a place to go for late night desserts.

I've been to many Phoenix Food Boutique's in the cities around 626. It's all the same, and order the same few dishes all the time. It's definitely one of the chinese spots everyone goes to. Check it out! ENJOY! PS: My go to drink is the MIXED FRUIT TAPIOCA.

Mixed fruit iced drink, yum yum in my tum tum! This is a milk based drink that has melon and mango, coconut milk, and tapioca. It is surprisingly light and super delicious! I can't believe I just discovered this drink last week, I've been missing out!

I've been to other Phoenix Food Boutique locations. There's nothing special about this place. It's located in a small plaza. The parking here on a weekend gets packed...which surprised me because I didn't see too many around. I ordered their Black Sticky Rice with Young Coconut - $2.95. It's a hot dessert, but it came out luke warm. However, I did enjoy it. It was semi-sweet, which I like. I was able to finish the whole bowl without having to down a full cup of water. I've had other things here...their mixed fruit coconut milk drink, which is AMAZING. Another favorite of mine is their mango and coconut roll or their durian roll. They also sell pudding...similar to the puddling that Dim Sum restaurants sell. There are many different flavors. Overall, they have a wide variety of desserts, both hot and cold. You can't go wrong when you're here. If you don't like something, you can move on and try something else. Other than desserts, they offer meals that are usually served at other cafes in the area. The prices here are reasonable. The service at this location was decent. Our waitress dropped by and took our orders. However, after dropping off our food, we never saw her again. When we paid for our bill, she never returned our change. Apparently, she took it upon herself to keep the change for her tip. The dining area is small, but fairly clean. It wasn't in the best shape, but it wasn't dirty. I think they can do a little better and update the place....in comparison to some of the other locations. Overall, I am giving this place 3 stars. I wasn't too fond of the service, the plaza was very small so parking was difficult to find, the decor could use an update...but their desserts are still good. I recommend Phoenix Food Boutique...any location will do. I'll only come here again if I am in the area, otherwise, I'd go to another Phoenix Food Boutique location.

Thus place is just ok. Kind of expensive for drinks compared to factory tea bar which is close by. Only reason I came was because I was craving the mixed fruit drink. It turned out just ok. I usually only go to Phoenix once a year so I've hit my quota haha Two drinks cost $9.05. Yikes.

Phoenix Food Boutique is not known for their entrees and appetizers, unless you are trying to order take-out here just to impress people with the nice containers they use for their take-out. I don't come to Phoenix often, but when I do, it's usually because I am craving their desserts. I order mixed fruit tapioca if I want something cold, and I order black sticky rice with young coconut and add black sesame tang yuan (Mochi-like balls) if I want something hot. Their mixed tapioca drink is about $4 including tax. The black sticky rice hot dessert is about $6. They also offer other cold drinks to-go and packaged desserts to-go like mango mochi, durian rolls, mango pudding, and more Hong Kong style desserts in their refrigerated section. Their table service is pretty horrible. All the waitresses just stand behind the cashier instead of out around the tables to service their sit down customers. They wait until you waive for their attention so they acknowledge that they see that you need something, but just stand there so that you can yell across the room to let them know what you need. It makes you wonder whether you're supposed to leave a tip for them or is this like a cafeteria where you serve yourself.

I go to this place when either I'm lazy or it's too late to go somewhere else. The food, while of course not the greatest, is more than acceptable. I love the location and I love how they don't close too early. FOOD Most of the time I just order the seafood udon. It's tasty and has a good amount of shrimp and fish. DRINK I usually get the mixed fruits tapioca or the mango tapioca. At $3.50(?) it's not that cheap though. SERVICE not bad. usually quick, efficient, and friendly PARKING Street or shared parking lot. Usually not too bad.

This place makes the worst coconut tapioca fresh fruits drink. Too much tapioca, ice clumped all together and not enough fruit. The mango shaved ice came half melted and had really dark looking, bruised mango pieces. Worst location I've been to so far.

  • Sally M.

By far the best Mango Slush with just the right amount condensed milk. The mango chunks are fresh everytime. I've tried this dessert at Papa Walks and thought it was not good at all. So glad to have had it at Phoenix first otherwise I would have thought this was a not so good dessert.

  • Vadim d.

I only had the dessert here, which was a grapefruit pudding. It was tasty and refreshing. But nothing really mind blowing. Their other items looked good as well.

More of a 3.5 rating. I've come here a lot because it's only about a three minute drive from my house and serves your essential HK dishes and desserts on the cheap. It's in a plaza with Vietnamese House, Luscious Dumplings, and a few other restaurants so parking can be hard on the weekends around dinner time. They have about 4 dedicated parking spots in front of their store which actually helps a lot. This place is relatively small so small groups are recommended if you plan to eat here, but it's of a place to stop for a quick dessert or to go food. They're really famous for their sticky black rice coconut milk dessert and the mixed fruit tapioca, both of which I almost always get. They also have the hot steamed milk with ginger which always brings me back to my childhood. Thing is, most desserts like these are served in a sit down Chinese restaurant. It's really convenient that you can order these to go and enjoy in your own home. Service is pretty fast as food usually comes out in about 5-10 minutes when you order, and you can always phone in an order for pickup.

Coconut milk and brack sticky rice pudding!!! Phoenix Boutique is always a great place to grab a quick bite, drink or dessert. Nice spicy salt chicken wings, pretty good hainan chicken, good porridges, and great asian desserts. Many locations and they always seem to be consistent and the gals are always nice who work at them. During the summer - their mixed tropical drinks are great filled with juicy pieces of fruit, tapioca and gelatin giving them fun textures that taste great! Their custards, pastries and hot asian desserts are all good as well. The Phoenix has risen! Cheap, great quality and fast for the price!

Came here after dinner because their mixed fruit drink with mini boba was supposed to be good. So we ordered some pudding, the mixed fruit drinks, shaved ice with mango, and tiramisu. Eh~ The mixed fruit drink was way to milky. the shaved ice was nothing but ice with condensed milk and unripened mango. The tiramisu was ok... Luckily, the pudding was the good. I'd take Half and Half over this place any time.

Cute little dessert place, conveniently located near my work. Limited seating, but my favorite drinks is still the mixed fruit pearl boba :]

Location It's located on Las Tunas/Mission. It's right across from El Pollo Loco. Pheonix is also in a plaza with many other chinese resturants like Vietnamese house and Michelle's Pancake. This place isn't too big, so don't bring like 10+ people. Remember, this place is known for desserts. Food Mainly known for their desserts! Try their Sticky black Rice Dessert with coconut milk. This is a hot dessert, so don't say I didn't warn you after all, we've been experience 100 degree weather. Another good meal they have is their Phoenix Boneless Chicken. That comes with their delicious sticky rice. It's basically shredded chicken mixed with oyster sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce and left in the fridge over night so the flavor gets into the chicken. So darn good! As for drinks, I recommend Mango Tapioca! It's basically diced mangoes, small tapioca, coconut milk in shaved ice to keep it cool. I find it good in shaved ice because once it slowly melts, it keeps your drink cool. There's take out! Their menu is on their website and so is their phone number. You can make an order on the phone and pick it up within 15-20 mins. During lunch time might take longer because they usually have two people in the front working. Make sure you call earlier if you are ordering for your company, because you don't want everyone to starve. Parking... it's a shared parking lot, though Phoenix has their own 4 parking spots in front of their back entrance, but yeah, prepare to look for parking since there are other restaurants around.

Picked up dessert for the family dinner and I was so impressed by the great service and yummy offerings. Phoenix has been around forever, so many different locations. Mom had a craving for black sesame hot dessert. So I dropped by before heading out to dinner. I don't normally write reviews for our neighborhood places. There are already so many many reviews :) But I'm compelled to write about my last visit because this time the service was exceptional. Picked up: 1 taro 1 red bean 1 black sesame 1 black rice with coconut The parking was convenient. The cashier was friendly. The desserts were hot and satisfying. We are a happy family!

Stopped by dessert after eating in the same plaza. The decor is ok, clean but seems more dated than other Phoenix locations I've been too. I ordered a coconut/tapioca drink, which was good but very sweet. Also had a order of mango mochi rolls. The mochi was amazingly soft and delicious, but the mango wasn't great. Maybe it's not mango season? But not very sweet and not ripe enough for my taste. Very convenient dessert stop after eating in the plaza though!

Service: -Fairly quick, sometimes slow Ambiance: -Casual, Chinese cafe Food: -Beef Chow Fun: big portion, a little greasy -Yang Chow Fried Rice: tasty, nicely flavored -Honey Walnut Shrimp: crunchy walnuts, big shrimps, with sticky rice Drinks: -Fresh Fruits Tropical Iced Tea: refreshing iced tea with small chunks of fruit (papaya, melon) -Mixed Fruits Tapioca: it's like the tropical iced tea but with tapioca balls and coconut milk Dessert: -Mixed Fruit Almond Tofu: if you like almond jello, you'll love this with sweet syrup and pieces of fruit -Mango Pudding: tasted ok -Egg Tart: comes in a box of 6 and it's bite-sized, not bad Parking: -Small parking lot that's shared with a lot of other restaurants, may be a challenge to find a spot during the weekend I love coming here because it's convenient, quick, good option when you want HK cafe food. Love calling in my order and picking it up after work. If I remember correctly, I think it's a $15 min for credit cards.

I like the food in Phoenix and usually take my son to go there enjoy our lunch. I like the Chao Fan (fried rice) and my son like Tai noodles with sea food.

I went here mainly because parking sucked near the pho place I went to and this Phoenix had designated parking for its patrons. Okay, I know that every chain restaurant differs a little, but this phoenix differed a lot (from the Arcadia branch). The Arcadia branch had food come out much faster, it looked so much more appetizing, and most of all, it wasn't understaffed. Although the waitstaff was SO NICE, there were only two waitresses manning the whole restaurant. One was doing takeout orders/teas, and the other one was running around trying to appease all of the tables. I just felt sympathetic the whole time I was there and I was scared to even bother her for a glass of water.

Probably the cleanest and less busy phoenix I've been to. They also blast the AC so is great to sit inside on a hot day and eat congee or soup. I don't normally eat at this once, but last weekend I had pork & 1000 year old eggs congee with a side of Chinese donuts and it was delicious! Also worth the mention is their shrimp wonton soup w/egg noodles. Wonton was huge! and you also get several of them. It's a bit out of the way from the frwy, but I am willing to drive and eat here again. Soon I hope.

Came by for an after-lunch dessert craving. The interior has a nice seating area, cooled by A/C. Ordered the Coconut Tapioca w/ Fresh Fruits drink. The drink was super tasty, had plenty of coconut flavor and most importantly, wasn't too sweet! :D Service was friendly too! Note: Credit Card minimum $10.

Why 1 star? So we were sitting at the table, talking, and waiting for our food. This waitress walked passed us holding two bowls filled all the way to the top, which we believed was black sticky rice with coconut sauce. To our horror, her thumbs were immersed in both bowls. That was not it, she then came back to the register and wiped her thumbs into a cloth that she used to clean the dirty tables. Okay!?!?! So the question is: Will she put her thumbs in someone else's food in the next minute? Well, I just want to throw up.

I've always liked Phoenix & this location is conveniently located on Las Tunas and Mission. It's pretty clean. However, you get better service when someone speaks Cantonese in your party. The parking is usually not too crazy or just park on the street. Phoenix is known for their Cantonese Chinese food & desserts, but don't forget about their awesome drinks! A couple of my staples include the Phoenix Chicken (cold chicken coated with yummy sauce with sticky rice & pickled veggies), Korean sliced prime rib with leeks (mmmmmm), lettuce wraps, chicken wings, & the fresh fruit tropical iced tea (half sweetened). I don't normally order desserts, but any of the squares are yummy.

So quick, and their coconut milk drink here was customized to have watermelon only! Sweeet! They're fairly quick and pleasant.

  • Chantel T.

3.5 because I've only had the tangerine chicken and kung pao chicken. I enjoy both dishes but wish they served an alternative to rice. I don't usually eat rice. Service is good but they immediately speak mandarin to you if you look Asian. I LOVE their taro desserts....taro pudding, taro mochi!

  • Travis H.

Phoenix is one of those places that is good to average. What you get is being a growing chain is there are pretty consistent with most of there locations. This being newer is a clean store. The locations doesn't make it the busiest either so pretty easy to order n get out.

    (3)
  • wolfie g.

Other locations were better for the mixed fruit tapioca drink. Came here in the evening around 7pm after dinner. Tapioca was not fresh. Melons tasteless. Almost no mango bits. Didn't feel it was worth my $4 here

  • Josie C.

i work within walking distance from here so I come here at least once a week. food is pretty standard. Service is standard. I like the tomato fried noodles with pork strips instead of beef. The noodles are like ramen noodles so its nice and chewy. I think i've tried 75% of their menu and everything is pretty standard. desserts: I always get the mango tofu and/or ginger steamed egg. drinks : lately, i'm lovin the barley water. Quenches my thirst, lightly sweetened and healthy.

Long ago I really disliked eating Chinese Food I guess it's because of always seeing it everywhere that I just didn't want it anymore. But now a days I really don't mind coming in and getting some Asian food. This place is a small but sweet place. Not that many tables and chairs but still the same quality like many other locations. This time I came to get some quick dessert and I loved it. This place does let you use credit card but you have to have a 10 dollar minimum. My favorites: Black Sesame Pudding, Coconut and Taro is a really nice one too! If you haven't had or tried these flavors you should munch on them! It will be good. Not too sweet and just the right amount of flavor!

Best place to go when that 2PM feeling kicks in at work. Awesome Mango Tapioca (iced beverage), Macau Tiramisu, Coffee Pudding, Fresh Mango Shaved Ice and Cassava Tart (a few of my favorite snacks) Great Service, HUGE language barrier tho but its cool.

I used to love going to Phoenix for Tropical Tea with mixed fruit and Tapioca Mixed fruit drink. All locations have the same stuff. It doesn't taste as good as it used it. They give you a load of tapioca but skimp on the fruits. When I was here yesterday, some of the tapioca in my drink was half cooked..it still had the hard center in it, yuck! What a waste of my $3.50, I could have had boba instead. Their warm desserts are good but pricey. I only like the sticky black rice with coconut milk dessert. My mom loves their sesame dessert. I've tried their durian roll before, it made my bf gag...he hates durian! I thought it was pretty good, but it really did smell.

Terrible service. Refused to take my order because i accidentally called an order in to the alhambra store. Told them i had already called them to cancel and still demanded i drive there to pick it up. WTF just take my order gawdamnit. never going back again.

"Hmmmm. Odd." That was my first thought when I walked in. It's this really tiny...restaurant, I guess. I don't think it's made for big groups because everything was pretty cramped. I also found it weird that they served some of their dishes in those black to-go boxes, and their other dishes in regular plates. It felt like a mix of fast food and sit-down restaurant food. Nonetheless, the food was pretty good. I had the shredded pork crispy noodles which was delicious. I also tried the japanese pork dish they have and that was great as well. We ordered their cold-cuts dish, which to me was reminiscent of Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern (It had pig ear cartilage, duck tongue, etc.) and I had a nibble of each item but I wasn't really a fan. I LOVED the dessert selection they had, which had more than the typical selections in Chinese food places. They also had great drinks. I had the mango tapioca and it had a yummy, coconutty taste. Although, I must confess that when I ordered mango tapioca, I was expecting boba. One thing that DID disappoint, was that they ran out of egg tarts when we got there. :( But I suppose that is my fault. All in all, it's a good place to try.

  • Feeleep O.

came here for a mango tapioca. sometimes it's okay sometimes it's bad this time i went, there was a lengthy cust service. =/ so i then i thought the drink was going to be good but no, it was super chunky, the mangos stuck together and iceberg sized ice in there

  • Tiffany Y.

PHOENIX BONELESS CHICKEN! Oheaven. The chicken are in shredded chunks. Served with pickled veggies & rice. This is the only time I'll eat chicken cold too! Only because its sooo *slurrrrp* This is what I order everytime if i'm here for a meal. Its a hit or miss tho as well. Either your chicken will be completely covered in yumminess, or it will only be full of flavor on top and bland towards the middle/under. Mango with black sticky rice & coconut cream- Cold dessert. The mangos were a little ripe. The black sticky rice isnt as flavorful when its cold. If you just try the regular black sticky ride w/coconut cream, its pretty bomb. Hong Kong Milk Tea- WHAT IS THIS!? It tastes all bitter! I usually get mixed fruit or coconut tapioca but I didnt want anything chunky or bitey today. I ordered this cause it had a symbol next to it meaning its one of their top picks. DISGUSTING. I had two sips and i couldnt stand it no more. When we were about to leave, our server asked if anything was wrong with it. I said it tasted bitter. She took it back and added more condensed milk to it. I took a sip and HOLYCOW! Condensed milk filled my mouth. I said its good only because I was sick of it. What a waste. I'll stick to my usual. Chicken and mixed fruit. Or passion fruit green tea. :)

Super great place for hang out after dinner or snack. It brought back all the memories from my hometown by their traditional desserts and dishes. I love their black sesame soup and tofu with mango. ^_^

Hmm, can someone remind me how I ended up at this place? With so many other better places to get boba and tea, I do not know why anyone would recommend this place. I came here and got the 'mixed fruits tapioca.' I think it was pretty much a milk tea with a mixture of different colored bits of tapioca. The milk tea tasted like it had been sitting on the counter for hours. You know...that taste of old milk? Not quite rotten milk, but old milk. Yeah...it's pretty gross. I took a few sips and threw the rest away. What a waste.

Frequented this place a bit after college for their cheap food but haven't been back in a long time. Something about its attempt at becoming a fast food crossed with cheap bowls and plates didn't sit well with me. The food didn't seem that good either. Now fast forward 10 years my wife and I came by as we wanted something quick and didn't want to wait at nearby establishments like Luscious. We got a combo soup noodle with wonton and beef brisket and fried fish with cream corn. The food seem to have improved. They always have slow boiled Chinese soup which is a plus. I think it may have redeemed itself. Their milk tea is really strong and their tropical coconut drinks are always welcomed but they are soo fat! I particularly love their mango almond tofu with tapioca but a bit pricey.

I like that they have a variety of Chinese desserts. Came to try the durian mochi rolls. Meh. They were ok. I didn't care for the mochi. I'd much rather buy a durian and eat it instead. The chrysanthemum tea was refreshing. I like that they don't add too much sugar in it.

    (3)
  • Chad P.

Randomly walked in here with a friend after grabbing lunch. I got the mixed fruit tea which was pretty good. A little sweet but still very delicious. He got chrysanthemum tea which was well....like every other chrysanthemum tea he's ever had. So pretty ordinary. Nothing to rave about but not bad. Oh and as a last little tip, be careful with your cup/lid. The lid of my drink came off as the employee was about to hand it to me and it got all over the debit machine and what not. Not my fault btw, it was still in her possession ;-) My friend also had the lid come off his drink as well.

The staff here is always really friendly to me. I go to Phoenix a lot. It just depends which one I'm closer to. I usually skip the food just cause I personally feel like it's overpriced for being in 626. I only go here for their drinks. My favorite is the mixed fruit tea. I see them cutting the fruit sometimes so you know it's fresh. So yeah maybe they add a crap load of syrup which is why you smile ear to ear with each sip, but it's so good just deal with it! The bf loves their mixed fruit tapioca. It's the white one with the sago in it. Their drinks are ridiculously overpriced but they are so good. It's a love-hate relationship. It's a recession. Seriously bring down your prices and for the record I drive over an hour to get here.

I went here for coffee and sticky rice cakes. The coffee was cold and they heated it in the microwave. The small cup cost way more than a Grande at Starbucks. The rice cakes were OK. I prefer the one on Valley because they have a better selection of desserts. Parking was a problem so I parked on the street around the corner.

I like this location better than the other one I've frequented in Arcadia next to Din Tai Fung. The employees are really nice, the space is used better, andddd they don't jip you on the goods! If it ain't broke, why fix it! Mixed fruit tapioca drink plus pecan tart lookin' cookies and almond cookies are always what I walk out with from here. I keep telling myself to try something new, but I just can't bring myself to! Love love love.

Ah yes, Phoenix Food Boutique "PFB"...like Starbucks they now seem to have a location on every other corner...specially in the SGV. Food is neither great or bad...it's food that fills the tummy for those days when you are not really feeling for a burger,"pho" or Sam Woo. "PFB" food tend to be a tad more on the queasy side...but that's ok...just let them ring up another $4 and buy yourself one of those chrysanthemum teas. Since we all know tea can dissolve oil...now that I think about it...I wonder if thats why they make it extra queasy to begin with...so we automatically go buy their $4 teas to help with the $7 oily meals...it's a subliminal message...pure marketing genius I tell you. Anyways, it is what it is...quick "asian" style food...order it to go so we can all hurry home to watch the next DVR episode of "Law and Order SVU"

I came here for a drink and got the Tapioca Mixed Fruit Drink while my friend got the Green Tea Latte. It was really good. The bits of fruit in the drink go really well with the milky taste and the tapioca was nice and soft. My friend said the latte was really good and tastes similar to something at Starbucks. The rest of the drinks look really good too. I'll come back to try those and maybe some food too.

This place closes too early, tbh. I usually get the mango tapioca, but a lot of the times the mango is quite yellow and sour. The fresh melon tapioca is pretty refreshing, too. As for snacks, I love arctic surf clams! Yummy! Their pecan tarts are pretty good too. I don't remember anything else being above mediocre, so I won't mention any others. I recommend NOT getting a drink that is pre-made(in the refrigerator) because it usually doesn't taste very good. It has that weird refrigerated odor and taste that is pretty unpleasant.

  • Susan M.

This rating is soley rating their mango tapioca drink. I don't live in california so whenever I come back to visit my family I always get their mango tapioca drink. Its so full of flavor as the sourness of the mango mixes with the sweetness of the cream and shaved ice. I have yet to try anything new at the place. Until then I will just keep getting my drink :-)

Wow. Decadence in yo' mouth! Coffee jelly, mocha pudding, coconut/red bean pudding, mochi, mango pudding - in that order. The chicken wraps and shrimp rolls at the Arcadia Phoenix are great as well. And I can't forget about the amazing tropical/coconut/tapioca concoction that I have dreams about. Plus, the warm red bean dessert that the owner hooked us up with to go was perfect for a rainy night. Sorry for butchering all the names of the dishes.

First became addicted to their Fresh Melons and Mango Delights (drinks with coconut milk and tapioca) ~ Deelish!!! For the first time last night tried the Taro Coconut Milk Tapioca and its my NEW fave!!! Although ALL their drinks are VERY GOOD!!! Oh don't get the premade drinks in the refrigerator as others have mentioned... There is also nice assortment of prepacked ready to go snacks dessert like items such as mochi :) Group of us also ate here since Vietnam House was packed and I really liked the Tangerine Chicken, Shrimp Fried Rice (lots of shrimp), Korean style beef, and Hong Kong Flat Noodles. Not a lot of seating at this location more like a cafe/ to go spot but easily accomodated 10 of us because was not packed.

The food is priced reasonably and its pretty good. Boneless chicken with rice (5.95) and chicken, shiitake mushroom, and chinese sausage (4.50) both were good. The place is pretty small and they have a bunch of desserts available to buy at the counter. Not great, but if you want some quick and reasonable chinese food, it will do the trick.

I tell ya this place makes some good food, and not over priced. Tasty stuff being served here. I like their spicy chicken wings, which are deep fried w/minced pieces of serreno chilies ontop; or their garlic wings, which has minced garlic deep fried on top of the wings too. No dripping sauces to worry about either, yummy! Their Mongolian beef is awesome, as well as their wonton soup. Their drinks are made perfectly with or without those balls of bobas [sp?]. I prefer their Thai Ice tea w/black jello, served with shaved ice. DEEElicious! I have to say, there is nothing I've eaten here that was bad. And the plus side is the music they have playing is surprisingly always "house music," yeah house music . . . not too loud either. I suggest you go check this place out [or one of their other locations] . . . you won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

Probably the worst chinese restaurant i been to, the least amount of food for what you paid.

I wish they could have a bigger space!! food tastes awesome and the serving is enough for two people so sharing is advised! saves money for groups=) I love the fried shrimp roll, beef chow fun and their fried rice is one of the best i have tasted! the place is very clean and even though its small..the design is simple yet commendable. the servers are fast though unfortunately some of them are not very friendly =( they had a new one open at monterey park where the 24 hour fitness is too. Worth a try!!

Can I just say that it's really annoying that Las Tunas splits off into W Las Tunas and Mission. I was heading west-ward on Las Tunas and ended up going around in circles trying to get back onto Las Tunas. Fail. Anyway, I LOVE PHOENIX! I don't come here for the food, but more for the drinks and desserts. My staple drink is the Mixed Fruit Frink, a coconut milk drink full of watermelon, melon, and little sago tapioca balls. It's a heavy drink so I'd advise that you don't get one on a full stomach. They offer a bunch of different mochi, filled with all sorts of different filling and everything I've tried have been great. There are also a lot of different Asian desserts, which will undoubtedly satisfy the Chinese in all of us. Parking in the lot can be a little tight, but there are also street parking spaces available too. Hmm, if only I had some mochi in my hands right now.

Where has this place been all my life? I finally ventured into this place a couple months ago and was overwhelmed by all of the delicious, home-cooked quality choices. I'm a sucker for asian desserts and this place delivers. Must drinks are the Mango Tapioca, Black Jello Tapioca and Osmanthus with Lychee Delight. Must do desserts are the Mango Soy Custard and the Taro and Black Sticky Rice in Coconut Milk. Must eats are Crispy Chicken Wings (lots of fresh garlic and salt), Chinese Sausage Fried Rice and Kung Pao Chicken (small hunks of stir fried chicken).

This place is so-so. If you want shaved-ice, this is not the place to go to. There's nothing special about them even though the pictures may make the food look good. Their coconut milk drinks are good, but not for $3.50. I could make it at home!!

I enjoyed "tapioca" balls with coconut milk(?) with fresh fruits (watermelon chunks, melon, canteloupe). This is an indulgent drink so use your own discretion. (ie. CALORIES!)

this place is horrible been here two time never coming back again , only thing good about this place is service , had the porridge with duck knew it was bad i could smell the duck it was old , also i knew what i was getting my self into but was too lazy to go to another place , the waiter which was truthful when i order i asked if the hainan chicken with rice was fresh he looked at me and told me to order noodle dish , he saved the night and i gave him a big tip not going back ever again

The shaved ice was average to below-average. A good shaved ice should be able to stand alone with just its toppings and the ice. But in addition to the typical condensed milk, they add some other type of sweeteners. I'd had better shaved ice close by. Their tapioca drink with fruit also had very little fruit. I'll go elsewhere...

Went out for some late night Chinese food in the San Gabriel Valley. I was first surprised that the restaurant was open late on a week night. The food was excellent. The menu has an array of authentic Chinese dishes. Worth a try.

The Mixed fruit drink is the best! It has coconut milk, sago and mixed fruit with some crushed ice. It is refreshing and will make you crave for more. I wish there is a Phoenix in the Bay Area

Went to Phoenix Food Boutique for dinner with three friends on a Sunday. The parking lot looked packed but wasn't hard to find a spot. The restaurant wasn't crowded but there was a decent level of activity - with some dine-in customers and take-outs customers coming in and out. The menu was a little overwhelming with a lot of choices, but everything we ordered was good, particularly the Phoenix Boneless Chicken and porridge. I liked their large selection of dessert. Total price came out to $11 per person for food and dessert - and we had leftovers to take home. Great food and price.

Wow...I went Phoenix Food Boutique in January and had one of the best desserts ever...the lychee pana cotta (LPC). My friends ordered some desserts too but I am too enamored with LPC to even remember what they ordered. For some reason, I think they're known as Phoenix Cafe... For those of you who 1) do not like chocolate, 2) don't like desserts that are too sweet, 3) but still want to get dessert in, LPC is simply...the dessert for you...my mouth is salivating as I write this out dated but very deserving review... I am not even sure how I managed to eat the entire LPC after I filled my stomach at Newport Tan Cang Seafood Restaurant with the most delicious lobster ever!!! Then to add dessert to it...my stomach felt like an overinflated balloon and looked like buddha's belly. My friends and I are already discussing a return trip to LA, and to Newport Tan Cang Seafood Restaurant and Phoenix cafe. I already know what I want from Phoenix...the other two flavors of pana cotta. wanderingchopsticks.blog…

I'm not a big fan of Asian desserts but Phoenix has an abundance of custards with coconut milk, sweet coconut milk drinks, coconut here coconut there... I visited Phoenix a few days ago with a friend, and we ordered two fruit tapioca coconut drinks...it was tasty. we tried the forbidden black rice with coconut milk, it was sweet but watery, I imagined for the dish to be similar to rice pudding...I was picturing how my stomach would expand in size and fullness before we got to the other desserts that we purchased. we tried some coconut cookies, similar to coconut macaroons, in theory, but I wasn't quite sold on it. Lastly, we tried these "petite four" version of custard desserts, some with taro, some with fruits, some with coconut....I like the coconut and taro the best. I like Phoenix enough but not to frequent there for my sweet fix....

last night i went to this phoenix location with my parents, wife and friends. we have never experienced such poor service!!! our party was seated and given menus and an order sheet completely in chinese. we fill out the order form with our items and hand it to the idiot waitress (her name was tessy - sounds almost as stupid as she was). she failed to confirm the items we selected and she didnt bother to ask if there was anything else we wanted. the chinese order sheet didnt have everything so i had to get up and tell them what i wanted. stupid biznatch... since she never reviewed the orders for us, it caused the biggest mix-up when our items start arriving on the table. first, she brought out every item one at a time. just bring it all out when its ready?!?! its all premade crap anyways. she failed to bring a few items and also she mixed up a the other items. she never brought utensils, nor napkins. what is your purpose?!? my wife also found a green leaf as well as bits of meat in her dessert. nasty is right! "oh btw, please put leave tip in cash and not on your credit card..."eff this, who the hell is getting any tip??? we should not have even paid. don't get me wrong, we've been to other phoenix locations (rowland heights valley blvd) and they have never let us down with the good desserts and quick service. the poor service at this location give the other branches a bad rap. these idiots need to take a course in customer service training or common sense 101.

Get ready to go into sugar shock. This place sells all kinds of little Asian desserts - custards, sesame balls, mochi, durian pudding, etc. I tried this sort of hot black sesame soup(?) thing and the sesame seed balls with the black sesame stuff in the middle. Both really sweet, and they came in large portions. My brother-in-law says this place has some of the best tapioca drinks around, and he's right. I drank this amazing mango tapioca drink which was more like sweet coconut milk tinged with just the right amount of mango pieces. The tapioca was made of these really tiny light balls, not the giant black ones. Can't wait to get back to LA for more of this stuff.

While their yummy, customiz-able (I asked for half sugar!) drinks are quite delectable, the poor service left me fuming. After ordering, we were promptly forgotten and it wasn't until we reminded the cashier about our order (more than 10 minutes later) that she STARTED making our drinks. UNACCEPTABLE!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
